Home Visitor, Wickham, nr Newbury
Do you have a little extra time to spare to regularly visit a blind veteran in your local community? Weekly or bi-monthly visits can make a big difference to a veteran who is experiencing loneliness and isolation.
Our female veteran served in the Territorial Army and up until recently worked full time as a security guard, but employment has ended due to health issues and visual impairment. She has recently moved to the quiet village of Wickham and would love to connect with a volunteer who is a good listener, and who may be able to help her engage more in her community in the future.
Through regularly meeting, chatting, listening and engaging with our members, our home visitors make a real difference to each of our members’ lives, helping maintain quality of life and independence. And they have fun whilst doing the role!
If you think you have the skills, or would like to develop these to undertake the role, please do get in touch.
Full training given, regular co-ordinator support, mileage and out of pocket expenses reimbursed.
