Social Club Helper (Chester le Street)

Our social clubs provide crucial social interaction for our veterans who can often feel isolated or lonely. Whether it's a breakfast club, lunch club or a coffee morning, this is their chance to get together, meet other blind veterans and have a good old chat over some great food.

The Chester le Street lunch club is held every second Wednesday of the month. Our volunteers are there to assist our veterans with making their food choice, help with payment of the bill, and some help guiding our veterans into the restaurant and exiting the restaurant. Come for some food and a chat with our veterans!

Volunteers must be over the age of 18 years and understand the importance of confidentiality and relationship boundaries. The role can be flexible around your other commitments, but we ask that you are reliable and punctual for our veterans. You will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteering.
