Social Club Helper (Lunch Club Helper - Chester le Street)

Our social clubs provide crucial social interaction for our veterans who can’t reach our centres, and can often feel isolated or lonely. The lunch club is their chance to get together, meet other blind veterans and have a good old chat over some great food.

The Chester le Street lunch club is held every second Wednesday of the month. Come for some food and a chat with our veterans! Our lunch club volunteers are there to assist our veterans with making their food choice, help with payment of the bill, and some help guiding our veterans into the restaurant and exiting the restaurant.

Our lunch club volunteers ensure that everything runs smoothly and a good time is had by all!

Volunteers must be over the age of 18 years and understand the importance of confidentiality and relationship boundaries. The role can be flexible around your other commitments, but we ask that you are reliable and punctual for our veterans. You will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteering.
